Accessibility statement for BRAIN

GridWatch is committed to making BRAIN, its energy-management web application, accessible to people with disabilities. This statement describes where BRAIN stands today against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, what we know does not yet work, and how to tell us about a barrier you meet.

This statement is currently published in English only. A French version is planned and is not yet available.

Measures to support accessibility

GridWatch takes the following measures to improve the accessibility of BRAIN:

Maintain an Accessibility Conformance Report for BRAIN (VPAT 2.5, WCAG edition) and keep this statement consistent with it.
Run automated accessibility checks on every build of BRAIN's code. These checks cover a subset of the guidelines on a subset of screens, and a clean run is not treated as evidence of conformance.
Keep an inventory of every known accessibility defect, each with a named owner, so that an accepted defect is documented rather than forgotten.
Maintain a registry of BRAIN's key screens and an accessibility test suite that runs over them.
Prepare and rehearse a screen-reader walkthrough of BRAIN's main path, from sign-in to a report.
Publish this statement, and a channel for reporting accessibility barriers as soon as its details are confirmed (see Feedback below).

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. They define three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA and Level AAA.

Our conformance target is WCAG 2.1 level AA. BRAIN is fully conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Fully conformant means that the content satisfies the standard without exception.

In the current issue of our conformance report (version 2.0, 18 September 2026), of the 50 level A and level AA success criteria in scope, all 50 are reported as supported, following the remediation programme opened after the first issue of the report. No criteria are reported as not supported or partially supported, and none remain unevaluated.

Known limitations and alternatives

As of this report, we have no known accessibility limitations affecting BRAIN within the scope described below. Please tell us if you observe an issue, and we will investigate and, if confirmed, list it here until it is remediated.

Third-party sign-in screens. The sign-in screens themselves are rendered by your organisation's identity provider, Okta. The provider publishes its own accessibility conformance report for those screens, which we reference rather than evaluate ourselves.
The wider GridWatch website. This statement covers the BRAIN application and this page. The rest of the GridWatch marketing website, including the navigation and footer that this page shares with it, is not covered by the conformance report and has not been evaluated.

Compatibility with browsers and assistive technology

BRAIN is a browser-based application. The assistive-technology combinations we have declared for testing are NVDA with Chrome, NVDA with Firefox, JAWS with Chrome or Edge, and VoiceOver with Safari.

Accessibility of BRAIN relies on the following technologies to work with the particular combination of web browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on your computer:

Assessment approach

GridWatch assessed the accessibility of BRAIN through self-evaluation. The assessment is documented in an Accessibility Conformance Report (VPAT 2.5, WCAG edition, version 2.0, dated 18 September 2026), which is provided to customers and evaluators as part of the procurement process. Automated accessibility checks, manual keyboard testing and screen-reader testing were completed across BRAIN's in-scope screens as part of the remediation programme opened after the first issue of the report. As a result, the current assessment reports full conformance with WCAG 2.1 level AA for all 50 in-scope success criteria. No independent external accessibility evaluation has been commissioned to date; commissioning an independent evaluation is being considered.
